Engineering PhD: three-paper dissertation assembled and formatted in 3 weeks
Hassan, 31 | PhD in Electrical Engineering | Public R1, Midwest
The challenge
Three published papers in three different journal styles, and a graduate school template that rejected my submission twice for margins, caption placement, and inconsistent numbering.
What we changed
- All three manuscripts were converted to one citation style and one numbering scheme with continuous figure and table numbers.
- The graduate school template was applied directly, including front matter, ToC field codes, and landscape table handling.
- General introduction and synthesizing conclusion were drafted to link the three contributions.
The outcome
Accepted by the graduate school on the next submission with zero formatting queries.
I had solved harder problems than this in my research. The template still beat me twice.
